The latest California housing market report is out. The short video (prepared by the California Association Realtors) discusses the current state of the California real estate market. There’s both good news and bad news, depending on whether you’re a Clovis home buyer or seller. Watch the video below to learn why.
What does all of this mean for Clovis home buyers and sellers?
The California housing market appears to be getting stronger but it still has a ways to go. Sales are on pace to increase 25% more than last year, but year-to-year price declines have slowed much. However, there has been a steady price increase the past several months which could indicate the Clovis real estate market already has hit bottom. Unfortunately, we won’t know this until we look back 6 months from now and compare prices to the previous 6 months.
If you’re on the fence and aren’t sure what to do about the Homes for Sale and Sold in Clovis data, keep an eye on the current Clovis homes for sale (also known as “inventory of Clovis homes”). Currently there are 284 Clovis homes for sale on the MLS. If this number continues to decrease, prices likely will go up since there will be more demand than there is supply. We’re already seeing this in some Clovis price ranges ($200,000 – $300,000 price range). That’s good news for Clovis sellers, but not so good news for Clovis buyers.
