Clovis Unified School District

There’s a little known Californian law (Employment Based Residence Law, CA Ed Code 48204) that parents and guardians who work within the boundaries of Clovis Unified should know about.  Clovis business owners and their employees can register their children in the Clovis Unified School District (CUSD) if their employment address lies within the 198-square-mile boundary of Clovis Unified.  We’ll show you how to take advantage of this and enroll your children into the very best schools!

CUSD Enrollment

To enroll your child in CUSD you’ll need to present a current Clovis paycheck stub or business license to the District’s Student Services and School Attendance (SSSA) Office at: 

From there you’ll fill out an Employment Based Residency Request Form.  Once authorized, you’ll need the following documents to enroll your student at a Clovis school:

• Child’s Birth Certificate
• Child’s Immunization Records
• PG & E Bill or Renter’s Agreement to establish a home mailing address

Keep in mind that you’ll need to present annual proof of Clovis employment.  Any type of work qualifies.  It just needs to be paid (not volunteer) and include a 20 hour work week during the school year.

While some CUSD schools are at enrollment capacity, SSSA staff members work with families to enroll in one of their schools of choice.
